I just recently ordered the medifast diet and awaiting its arrival at my doorstep. I have read very good reviews about this plan and was wondering if anyone else out there has had good/bad results or mixed feelings about this diet? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Medifast is really expensive for a single person on a budget. I was thinking about trying the Slim Fast powder with 45% less sugar and adding some protein powder to it. On medifast you can drink 5 to 6 shakes a day and eat nothing but the shakes until you lose all your weight. Has anyone ever tried this with Slim Fast?

I did the prepared Slim fast before. But, I could only handle one of thos cans a day.

I think Medifast is tough because of the liquid taste for 5 or 6 shakes a day. i couldn’t afford to stay on that one.

I have used Lean Body for Hers by Labrada and mashed a banana in there and added some cinnamon for flavor.

What does like look like? What kinds of things will you do? How do people look at your – your husband, kids or co-workers? Get a FIRM and clear picture of what your life FEELS like in this beautiful space, open your eyes and make it a reality. ( I did this EVERY day for weeks…trust me, it works GREAT!)

Now, just make it happen. You have the tools. The motivation. And the knowledge that life is going to look (and feel!) so much sweeter in a short time from right now! No more procrastinating. Go out and make it happen!

Tips for Success in Medifast

The First Few Days

1.It takes at least 2-3 days for your body to adjust to the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan. Until you reach the fat-burning state, you may feel hungry, tired or slightly irritable. You may also experience headaches or lightheadedness. As your body adjusts, these symptoms will disappear leaving you energized, confident and feeling great.

2.If you experience hunger or fatigue in the first few days, have an extra Medifast shake. It’s better to have an extra Medifast shake than to go off your program.

3.Stay busy and occupied. Remind yourself that you can do anything for 2-3 days.

4.Avoid tempting sights or smells of food as much as possible until you feel strong enough to resist eating. Do whatever it takes.

Space Your Meals Carefully

Plan to have your Medifast Meals every 2-3 hours. Eating consistently will ensure the quick, steady weight loss that comes from the Medifast program.

Don’t Skip Meals

Skipping meals will decrease your nutrient balance and can actually slow down your metabolism which will make you lose weight slower, not faster.

Eat Slowly

Spend at least 15 minutes eating each meal. Use a straw for shakes and drinks. Cut bars into small pieces to help you slow down while eating.

Drink Lots of Fluids

Drink at least 6-8 glasses (64 ounces total) of water each day. In addition, you may drink any noncaloric beverage including unsweetened hot or iced tea, herbal tea, coffee, diet sodas, calorie-free flavored water or other sugar-free drink mixes such as Crystal Light or Diet Kool-Aid, instant broth or bouillon. You may use 1-2 tablespoons of skim milk or fat-free half and half in your coffee or tea, and you may also use artificial sweeteners if desired.

Limit Caffeine

Limit coffee and caffeinated drinks to three per day. The low calorie level of Medifast Meals may increase your sensitivity to caffeine, which may cause anxiety, shakiness or other symptoms.
