can someone WHO HAS READ THE BOOK summarize the southbeach diet for me?

Can someone who has direct experience with SB diet tell me exactly how it all works, and what the book says? I have decreased my carbs, but I would like to know how it would be different to be on South Beach. Thanks!

its in three phases.
phase one is obviously the hardest. basically you cut down on carbs and sugar. you’re not allowed to eat anyy type of sugar, not even from natural sources like fruit. you eat protein like egg whites, fish, chicken and lean meat, low fat dairy like ricotta, cottage cheese and drink vegetable juice. this last for two weeks and you lose about 8 pounds each week.

phase two you get to eat fruit, yogurt and (if i remember correctly) some whole grains.
this last for another two weeks and you lose about 2-3 pounds each week

phase three is basically just learning to eat right, balancing all types of food. this is meant to turn into a lifestyle, which means it doesnt last for a certain period of time.

personally, i had a hard time with phase one bc i really enjoy my fruit and grains.. however, it does work. goo dluck

another thing about the SB diet is that youre not supposed to have caffeine. the book says something about caffeine making you feel hungry.
