As a member I find this inexcusable
I’m a small miffed, too – I don’t print out my meal plans in advance, I use the recipes right off the notebook screen and it’s DINNERTIME and I’m HUNGRY!
Also – I’ve only been a member for a couple weeks, and I had no thought they were going to be down.

I depend on that menu like a freakin’ lifeline, I’m incapable of fending for myself. (Ok, I’m not that pathetic… but close)

eDiets is changing over its web site to a new format. The company has been warning its members of this for a couple of months now. It should be up and running soon, I hope!References :

I’m a paying member, and I never heard from Ediets about any outage. Another user mentioned that she thought it was going to be down for a few hours some time soon, but this is two days now and that is just not acceptable.References :
Yes this is disappointing. I’ve been a member for nearly a year and have not received notice about their site going down.

I agree, this is inexcusable. I don’t know if the problem is migrating to a new website format. All that work would have been completed offline and the new website should have been launched with smallest interuption. I hope they get up and running soon.References :

This is really ridiculous. I am so annoyed now. My goal was to do my workout every day and I really use their virtual trainer, now I can’t do it. I did not print it out ahead of time. I knew the site was going to be revamped but I did not know it was going to be down for so long.References :
This is unreal. You would reckon they’d send us an email or something to let us know when we can expect to get back on their website. I’ve never seen such a disregard for one’s customers.
I am a new member, too, and was completely in the dark about this downtime. But having redesigned a website or two myself, I know that it should never have taken this long — like an hour or two at the most.References :
I’m very upset. I joined the day before the site went down. Now, if I try to cancel they’ll charge me $25 just for early cancellation. I don’t know any major website undergoing rennovations that is down for more than a couple of hours. Very unprofessional! KathyReferences :
LaurenB has that right. This is no way for a huge, publicly traded company to run a website. I know people who take their livejournal sites more seriously.

I called and they said it should be up by midnight — I could tell I was being read a script. She even said the ancient site is "gone." Having been through a site relaunch many times, I’d say something went terribly incorrect. Someone is going to get fired.References :
As a personal who has done several website revamps, this all just doesn’t add up. Every excellent developer knows that you have to be able to roll back to an older version that works. This was very poorly handled for the last several months. I called consumer service and they said they have no thought when it will be back up.References :
A work colleague place me on to http://www.calorieking.com/ a few weeks ago, it’s one third the price of ediets. Price is one of the reasons I didnt sign up with ediets in the first place, and I don’t agree with the fad diets they promote any (atkins etc)References :
