As a member I find this inexcusable
I’m a little miffed, too – I don’t print out my meal plans in advance, I use the recipes right off the computer screen and it’s DINNERTIME and I’m HUNGRY!
Also – I’ve only been a member for a couple weeks, and I had no idea they were going to be down.
Edited – 12:06pm CST – Aaauuuggghh! I’m so hungry!
I depend on that menu like a freakin’ lifeline, I’m incapable of fending for myself. (Ok, I’m not that pathetic… but close)
I hate counting calories, please come back eDiets – don’t make me count the calories!!!

eDiets is changing over its web site to a new format. The company has been warning its members of this for a couple of months now. It should be up and running soon, I hope!

I’m a paying member, and I never heard from Ediets about any outage. Another user mentioned that she thought it was going to be down for a few hours some time soon, but this is two days now and that is just not acceptable.

Yes this is disappointing. I’ve been a member for almost a year and have not received notice about their site going down.
eDiets, how much longer?

I agree, this is inexcusable. I don’t know if the problem is migrating to a new website format. All that work would have been completed offline and the new website should have been launched with minimal interuption. I hope they get up and running soon.

I called customer service today and they had no idea when the site would be back up. It’s a real pain.
I can’t believe that they would allow the site to be down for 2 days

Does anyone have the Customer service number.? We have been member for three years now and this is the first time it has been down for any peroid of time.
They need to have another site up until the new one is running.

I’d recommend that you stop paying for eDiets in general, get a better site for free at http://www.SparkPeople.com

This is really ridiculous. I am so annoyed now. My goal was to do my workout every day and I actually use their virtual trainer, now I can’t do it. I did not print it out ahead of time. I knew the site was going to be revamped but I did not know it was going to be down for so long.

This is unreal. You would think they’d send us an email or something to let us know when we can expect to get back on their website. I’ve never seen such a disregard for one’s customers.
I am a new member, too, and was completely in the dark about this downtime. But having redesigned a website or two myself, I know that it should never have taken this long — like an hour or two at the most.

I’m very upset. I joined the day before the site went down. Now, if I try to cancel they’ll charge me $25 just for early cancellation. I don’t know any major website undergoing rennovations that is down for more than a couple of hours. Very unprofessional! Kathy

LaurenB has that right. This is no way for a big, publicly traded company to run a website. I know people who take their livejournal sites more seriously.
It’s like they have no fall back plan!
Very unprofessional.

This is what they’ve said in their emails:
"Just another reminder for you that we’ve begun our transition to the new site! You may have noticed some small changes already, and the rest will be rolled out slowly through December 14th. We hope that the many enhancements to the site will make it easier for you to find the information and tools you need, as well as find and connect with the community support that together, will ultimately help you reach all of your goals!
Of course, during this time and in the weeks that follow, we will do our best to help you find your way around the new site and respond to any questions or concerns might have! Our number one priority is our commitment to providing a quality experience for you. Please do not hesitate to contact anyone in Nutrition Support, Community or Member Services, or feel free to call us at 1-800-265-6170."
I called and they said it should be up by midnight — I could tell I was being read a script. She even said the old site is "gone." Having been through a site relaunch many times, I’d say something went terribly wrong. Someone is going to get fired.

As a personal who has done several website revamps, this all just doesn’t add up. Every good developer knows that you have to be able to roll back to an older version that works. This was very poorly handled for the last several months. I called customer service and they said they have no idea when it will be back up.

A work colleague put me on to http://www.calorieking.com/ a few weeks ago, it’s one third the price of ediets. Price is one of the reasons I didnt sign up with ediets in the first place, and I don’t agree with the fad diets they promote either (atkins etc)

it’s still down….been at least two days now, looks like my ediets membership isn’t going to last too much longer, it’s a shame, i’m sure other people are thinking that as well.
