Which would be the best diet program for me?
I’m 15, 5’3", and 135 pounds. I’ve been down to 122 about 4 months ago, but I got it all back again plus more.
My goal weight is 110. I LOVE food. I plan to be a chef when I grow up and I know (and NEED) good food. I have no problem eating healthy foods, as long as they’re flavorful and not in tiny little portions (like some diet foods are).
I HATE excersing. I know, I should just suck it up and excercise, but I cry when I get on a treadmill. I really can’t do it.
I know what foods are fattening and what are not, that’s not my problem. I need something concrete that will motivate me and help me stay on task with my dieting (something like Nutrisystem, where you don’t have to make any decisions yourself).
I’ve thought about Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, and eDiets, but I’m still not sure…
Any ideas for a diet program?
you do not need a fad diet
follow good healthy eating habits and work out 3 times a week for
30 min.
It seems that the perfect diet for you would be Dr. Levine’s Ultimate Weight Loss Formula. I tried it, it works great and you can eat anything you want. Go to this site for more info:

Im on a diet too, you need to eat healthy. Girl to be honest I’ve lost almost 30 lbs. in 4 months and you CANNOT loose weight without excersizing at least 3 times a week and eating healthy. YOu cant just go to Burger King and get a like king size fry and whopper and expect to loose weight ya know? Eat healthier and do at least about 100 crunches everyother day I promise ull see results. You don’t have to limit what you eat either you cant eat WHATEVER you want just healthy… and you should on the weekends not watch what your eating as much. Give ureself a break. It works!

Weight Watchers might be a good one for you, but although you hate to exercise, it’s gotta happen if you want to lose and keep it off. And at 15, you’re young enough to start making a good habit of it. If you don’t like the treadmill, how about just calling a friend and go for a walk, or swimming, roller skating, skate boarding. DON’T wait until you get older, your metabolism slows down and it gets alot harder to lose weight! Good luck!

First, dieting is not the problem. The problem is the portions and not moving. So, you love food, we all do well, most of us do. So, you need to remove the word die…t from your vocabulary and think healthy instead. Since you told us you know all the right things to do you need will power and you have to want it more than the food. That is the answer and the only one that can do it is you. So, forget the money that all the programs will cost and get it together and just do it. If you bnought the food you’d still eat more, no one is stopping you. so, just figure it out and do it because you desire to be healthy and not fat..that is the motivation you need. Not the answer that you allready have in your brain and smart head of yours. OK? Go for it and get er done!!!

My mom and an ex gf has tried adkins to great results. The ex lost almost 50 pds (weighing 190 and going to 140, still trying to lose more) and my mom lost her goal of 30 pds (currently weigh 120)
Other then that, the only experience with diets I had was good old exercise. I use to weigh 250, and now I weigh 175 (i’m 5’9, so that seems like a good weight)
Either way, your going to need to put some kind of decision into it. Going into a no decision diet is almost like suicide. Make sure your always in control.

I <3 Weight watchers. It is an extremely supportive environment. You get to eat all of the different types of food that you want and their are incentives for staying on track.

you shouldnt go on a diet….you dont need to work out obsessively either. when you sleep, you burn 60 calories per hour. if you walk for and hour, you burn 270 cals. if you play your fav music and dance to it for half an hour, you burn 240 cals. shopping for one hour burns 210 cals, kicking a soccer ball around in your back yard for an hour burns an estimated 125 cals, and playing basketball for an hour burns about 246 cals. walk your dog, take a nice run(running is a great way to get good muscles, especially if you run up and down hills) but when you do this stuff(except if ur sleeping i guess) you really need to stay hydrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont do all of this in one day. spread it out evenly, maybe 1 or 2 of these activities a day. dont diet, dont skip meals, becuase skipping meals slows down your metabolism and will make you gain all of the weight that you thought you were losing. every day activities burn lots of cals. just stay active and have fun. you shouldnt be worrying about your weight. as long as you get the proper amount of every food group in every meal everyday, then you sill be fine. avoid tv unless its drastically raining and you have nothing better to do, or if your sick. work out responsibly, and dont over do it. that will give you results that you dont want. you will start to look like a skeleton, just like nicole richie and keira knightly.

There is no "magic bullet." You are basically rejecting everything you know you need to do.
Weight is a simple reflection of calories in, versus calories burned. It is cumulative. If you consistently take in more calories than you burn – you gain weight. If you burn more calories than you take in – you lose. Dieting just trains your body to store more calories the next time you eat, for those lean times again. That is why when people diet they end up bouncing back with extra pounds gained.
If you don’t like the treadmill, how about taking up something you enjoy in which exercise is a by-product? Try racquetball, hiking, swimming – I find competitive sports (or sex) are great for burning calories while attending to something else :^)
And when you do find some way to consistently burn those calories, your metabolism actually goes up. Meaning, that a person who exercises burns more calories when they are sitting around than a person who doesn’t. That is why it seems like lean people can eat so much. And if you like food – finding some way to exercise will enable you to eat more of it and stay the same ideal weight!

I suggest that you try body cleansing. I tried it and really got lean quickly. I lost 15 pounds in 9 days and also 3 inches off my waist. I do body building so getting leaner was my goal. My sister did this program too and she lost a lot of weight quickly. I did not know too much about cleansing but there are a lot of TV commercials about this stuff. This is a body cleanse and not just a colon cleanse, I wanted my body to get lean quickly and this did the trick! Every year Americans invest billions of dollars in weight loss diets and gimmicks, many of which yield few results. However, the lure of quick, easy weight loss is hard to resist. Despite ineffective tools, most hopeful consumers are willing to give the next weight loss fad a chance. If you’re planning to start a new diet, it is important to remember the following information.
Food-specific diets: Have you ever tried the cabbage diet or the fruit-only diet? These are just a couple of examples of diets that promote one "specific" food that causes weight loss. No matter how much you think you’ll enjoy ice cream at every meal, inevitably you will get bored with eating the same food repeatedly. As a result, you’ll eat less food than needed to maintain your weight. This type of diet will not teach you healthier eating habits or provide a balance of nutrients, and consequently is not effective for long-term weight loss.
High-protein, low-carbohydrate diets: One of the most recent trends in dieting, these diets are based on the concept that carbohydrates are "bad" and that everyone has some degree of insulin resistance, resulting in poor carbohydrate metabolism. Many proponents of these diets suggest that including carbohydrates in your diet will cause weight gain. The reality, though, is that eating more calories (whether as carbohydrate, fats, or protein) than you burn will cause weight gain.
High-fiber, low-calorie diets: Fiber-rich foods play an important role in a healthy diet. They are a helpful ingredient of weight loss efforts because they provide bulk to the diet, which helps you feel fuller sooner. Be careful, though: if you plan to increase the fiber in your diet, be sure to increase your fluid intake at the same time or you may experience cramping, bloating, and constipation. High-fiber diets will help with weight loss only if you restrict calories in conjunction with addition of extra grains, fruits and vegetables.
Liquid diets: Consumers face a couple of different liquid diet options. Your local grocery store and pharmacy sell over-the-counter liquid meal replacements, which can be expensive and frequently add extra calories to daily consumption if not managed carefully. On the other hand are liquid diets that require medical supervision. These diets are usually very low in calories and may result in metabolic abnormalities if dieters are not carefully monitored. Neither type of liquid diet should be used for long-term weight loss unless monitored by a health care professional. Radically changing your caloric intake in this way will not result in long-term behavior modification and healthy eating patterns.
Fasting: As a way to cleanse the body or jump-start a weight-loss program, fasting has been recommended for years. However, all that fasting really does is deprive your body of nutrients and decrease your energy, leaving you feeling weak and lightheaded. If the right nutrients are not available for your cells to use as energy, your liver will convert fat stores to ketones for use as energy (ketosis). Long-term ketosis can be harmful to your health.
No fad diet or gimmick will work magic for safe and effective weight loss. The following are some suggestions for ensuring a long-term healthy eating plan and getting your weight loss efforts off to an encouraging start:
Eat a variety of foods. Remember, a balanced diet will ensure that you get all necessary nutrients.
Get some physical activity every day. Calories in must be less than calories out to ensure successful weight loss. To keep "calories out" at a healthful level, make you get at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.
Include sources of fiber in your diet. They will add bulk and give you a feeling of fullness.
Choose a diet low in fats, saturated fats, and cholesterol. You do need to consume some fat for good health. Aim for no more than 30 percent of your total calories as fat calories, of which no more than 10 percent should be saturated fat calories.
Choose foods moderate in sugars. Foods that are high in simple sugars usually offer little nutritional value and will add unwanted calories.
